Apple Hill

We kept up with tradition and took a trip to Apple Hill this Nevada Day weekend.
As always, it did not disappoint and we had a ton of fun!
We first stopped at a u-pick orchard, and got this adorable pic of Claire:

Then, off to Apple Ridge Farms, where we bought apple donuts, pet the animals, and ran through the hay bale maze. These cuties had fun posing in the cutouts- TOGETHER:

Then, we drove over to Rainbow Orchards, where they really know how to make apple donuts, hot and fresh, made-to-order. mmmm....
Afterward, we had lunch at Jack Russell Brewery, and tasted habanero and cayenne jelly. Interesting, but not my cup of tea. After, we drove to a couple wineries, where the girls were surprisingly good, and we got a huge discount (they know how to treat Nevadans right :-) ).

The most important stop was Kids Inc., where they have the infamous Walkin' Pie. OMG! This is what the trip is all about. It's a pie crust bubble, filled with loads of spiced apples, baked to perfection, then topped off with cider sauce. Then make it a la mode, and it's heaven. Jeff and I shared it and still couldn't finish all of it. After the deliciousness, we enjoyed the ranch and it's Fall-colored view.

"But I want to this way... APPLES!!"

Our last stop was Grace Patriot Winery, where they were having free food and entertainment. The couple who own it are Nevada grads and live 1/2 time in Reno. It was great way to say bye to Apple Hill for another year. On our way home, we stopped at Ikeda's in Auburn, and enjoyed the good old american hamburger.

We can't wait for next year already!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

This year we went to Ferrari Pumpkin Patch in the center of town. It was free and fun for the girls. They had fun seeing some of the animals, running through the corn maze and bouncing in the bounce house. A quick trip worth making...

Scarlett turned 2!

We love, love, LOVE our little Scarlett these days. She is definitely 2 and knows it. She is such a sweet heart, with her little mini voice, big roars, and petite little body that comes with a big attitude. We get the pleasure of having her every other Saturday, which makes great practice for that 3rd girl I know we will have. These girls are the best of friends. It is so cute!

Scarlett's birthday was a couple weeks ago, and we had a mini bash for her. It was homemade pizza and vegan cake. Yum!

Happy Birthday Scarlett!

Random October

I am very behind on blogging. School has gotten the best of me, but the happy announcement is I am approved for graduation December 8th. Woohoo! I am not walking at commencement and you all probably think I am silly for it, but I sat through Jeff's graduation for 5 hours, bored out of my mind (PROUD, Yes, but BORED), and I would not want to put anyone through that again. So we are going to throw a big bash instead! I think it's genius! Ill even wear the cap and gown. So there. That's my little rant....

Now back to cuteness. Here are some random photos this month and I'll be blogging about the big things soon....

Nice weather= walking to the park a lot!

Squaw valley Oktoberfest.
The keg roll was very interesting to the girls.
 They were enthralled.

Used our last groupon for the zoo before it closes for the winter.
