Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

XOXO,

Easter Festivities

We did all the usual to-dos for our Easter Weekend. Egg-hunting, Church, baskets, dinner and getting dolled-up. It was a great weekend!

Here's some fun from our hunt at Maynard park. It was really cool, because they let the young ones go first, pick out their "eggs" (which were actually golf balls) and then walked them over to get their goody bags, which included candy and free money to the food carts. This was one of the best, most organized hunts I have ever been to.

Papago Park

We had to drive to Phoenix to use a groupon (we are buying the girls bunk-beds), so we stopped and ventured a little. We took the kids to a very  easy hiking trail that leads up to "The Hole in the Rock," with a great view of the city. The girls had a blast, and the view could not be beat.
See that hole? That's where we went.

Spring has sprung!
"I just need a minute mom!"

This duck walked right up to us, looking for food.

Cool, but creepy playground. each plaything was shaped as a snake.

Ostrich Ranch

Last week, we met up with one of the wives from dental school at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. It's about forty minutes from us, between Phoenix and Tucson.  The girls had a blast feeding all the animals (or rather throwing food at them), and the highlight was the Lorikeet Forest. It was super cheap. I had to pay for myself, and the price came with feed for the animals and nectar for the birds.  It was also fun to meet up with Melissa, and catch up on time since dental school.

"Hi, you're really close!"

"Sure, i'll Give you food"

"Why can't you feed me out of your hand?"

"Because I like to stay this far away from you!"

you have to put the food in those cups and roll it up the conveyor belt.
Claire's favorite part...

"goat penthouse" Why are they up so high you ask?
Look below to find your answer...

The ostriches were my least favorite, which is so ironic I know.
But, man these things BITE!

Larikeet

I am helping Claire a little, but she was not afraid of the birds at all.
 It was super cute!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We all forgot about it, until we got to church and realized everyone was wearing green
 (except our girls and Jeff).
I did, however, remember to make corned beef and Chocolate Stout cupcakes from Skinnytaste, and Jeff had his green beer. Thankfully, no one was in a pinching mood :-)
