Nursery:
I saw my doctor at my 39 week appointment, and after not having change from 3 centimeters dilated in 4 weeks, he gave me the okay to be induced. We scheduled it for me to go in when he was on-call which started Saturday night. We dropped the girls off with Jeff's assistant (who has two young ones also), and headed to the hospital for an 8PM induction. My doctor didn't come in until 10, and broke my water initially. They checked me after a few hours, and no progress. So, we started pitocin at 1AM. I learned a tough lesson- when you get pitocin, start the epidural at the same time. It was no fun for the anesthesiologist or I to sit through intense contractions and try to keep your back just right so they don't mess up the spinal. yeesh! Between the pitocin started and the epidural, I had the most miserable shakes and the contractions were no joke! I got my epidural at 4AM, and dilated more quickly than I thought after that. I also got a few hours of sleep too! The next time they came in was 9 AM. They saw that I was dilated to a 10 and the baby was all the way down. Dr. Chen told the nurse to get me ready to push. He left, but was immediately called back in because it took two pushes and 2 minutes and she was out! By far the easiest delivery, and our smallest baby.
