Vegas: Chris's Convocation and Naval Promotion

We were so glad to be at the graduation ceremony for Chris. Now it's off to North Carolina for them to Camp Lejeune Marine Base, where Chris is doing a AEGD with a commitment to the military for at least 5 years.

While we were in Vegas, we were able to spend a great amount of time with the Opyrchal side of the family. It was a blast! We left for Vegas at 3AM and got there in time for Jeff to play in a golf tournament with the boys. I spent some time with Marilyn, and the grandparents when they arrived, at the hotel. Then, Friday, we were able to see Chris's promotion to Lieutenant in the Navy. They had a ceremony on the school campus and the officers wore their dress uniforms. It was endearing to see Chris in his white naval uniform... 

Then Friday evening was the hooding ceremony, held separately from the big graduation that ALL of UNLV partakes in. Since Jeff is a doctor, he was able to hood Chris, i.e. give him his official dentist status. It was fun to watch and also sweet since I think it's the first time the bros have ever hugged :-)

Saturday and Sunday was spent with the family, at graduation BBQ and at the hotel. More pics to come! ...
