Exploring "The Old Pueblo"

With such mild winters (it's been in the 70s!!!), we have gotten out a bit to explore our city.

First stop, downtown. They are really working to vamp up downtown, with the new tram system, new eateries, and fun events for the family. I kind of love it, since Reno's downtown was a bit lackluster, and full of smokey casinos.

We took the girls to the transportation museum, where they got to ride the animal train, and then walked downtown for a little while. They also love the Oklahoma! train, which we have visited before.

Then, we went to the Pima Air and Space Museum one weekend. It is a huge airplane graveyard of retired military and special operations airplanes. There are several hangars and then miles of land that have airplanes outdoors. The girls loved it, and we loved that they could just run around outside for a couple hours.

puts into perspective how huge these were!

I miss watching these fly over the San Fran Bay during fleet week!

That's one expensive art project!

We also bought the Tucson Passport to motivate us to get out more. It has already paid for itself and we've only used it twice! Next stop: Tucson Botanical Gardens and BUTTERFLIES!!!!

Nana's Visit

My mom decided that it was time to leave the -20F weather for our sunny 70 degrees.

We picked her up in Mesa and had nice visit with her.

We went shopping (since Great Falls is lacking in that area), ate to our hearts' content (something they also lack are the typical chains, Outback, Olive Garden, etc...), and celebrated our birthdays by getting pedicures. The girls enjoyed having her around too, and had lots of puzzle time with Nana.

Pretty tree, Pretty girls...

The girls were very involved this year in decorating. We had so much fun! They got their own bag of ornaments, and went at it.
