So-Cal Fun with the Packards!

On Sunday, we drove down to Carlsbad, which is about 20 or 30 miles from San Diego. We visited with our friends from dental school , the Packards. It was nice to catch up, and boy did we have a lot to catch up on. It seems like our chaos ended a few months ago and theirs is just beginning. Haha! It made for great conversations! And Annie is one of the girls I really missed having around after dental school. That bond that we all formed as the dental wives' group is something that is bitterweet for sure.

When we got there, Claire, Madelyn and Cadence seemed to bond pretty well and played. Annie made us a delish lasagna, and to-die-for chocolate silk pie! We walked the oceanside that evening also. It was a little reminiscent of San Francisco because of the crisp air and overcast weather.

The next day, before we left, Annie took us to the upper viewing area of the Carlsbad Flower Fields. It wasn't at its peak, but there were still thousands of gorgeous flowers to admire. Then, we took the kids to a park to play before we hit the road. Thanks to my wonderful hubby, Annie and I were able to talk just a little more while he ran the kids tired.

The trip home was just fine. Some cool tidbits to remember is that we drove about 100 feet away from the mexican border, went through el centro, which is 32 feet below sea level and was 107 degrees (yikes!), and learned that Yuma, Arizona is on the California, Mexico, and Arizona Borders.

See you soon Packard Family! Thanks for having us!
