NO BABY!!!!

We have been keeping busy since Grandma Bev got here Wednesday. I am trying to keep my mind off the fact that Cadence may be more stubborn than her sister was in the womb. She is still not ready to make her appearance, so I am taking advantage of the free time, by showing Grandma sights of SF.

We visited the Palace of Fine Arts and fed the ducks.

Claire and Great-Grandma Bev

Feeding the ducks: took Claire a few tries to get it in the water.

Hello Mr. Swan!

On Friday, We met up with Emily and Gunner to walk Blackies, our favorite park up north.

Saturday, we visited the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market, and walked the piers until I couldn't anymore.

Today, we visited Moss Beach and the tidepools, probably our last time while living here.

Dad & Claire Tide-pooling

Anemone, center.

What we checked out; there were several crabs and some anemone.
The others saw some starfish too.

Claire & Dad

Jessie was visiting from Indianapolis.

Julie and Lincoln- so cute and cuddly!

Sea Lion center of the water.
There were a few hanging out.

I have to say I am so glad we are doing all these things, because I know once Cadence is here we won't have the same opportunities to.

HOWEVER, having a little one in my arms would be nice too!!!!!

68 Dollar Ice Cream

Yep. That's right! We spent that much on our ice cream trip to Baskin Robins the other day. It was  31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robins and we thought we would go before we had to pick up my grandma from the airport.
Here's a lesson to you: Don't park in Financial District BEFORE 6pm unless you plan on feeding the meter. We had 20 minutes until the meters were free. THAT IS 3 QUARTERS! 75 CENTS! Our ice cream was less than 3 bucks but our ticket- $65!!!! I think that meter maid was just watching us, because literally one minute after we parked, he wrote us the ticket.

It's fair to mention to that we have not had ANY parking tickets the last 3 years, UNTIL this past month, when Jeff got one in Oakland, and now this one. Definitely will not miss poor parking in SF!!!!

The ice cream still made me one happy pregnant woman, and one happy toddler in tow :-)

Worth $68? Maybe....

Claire Lately...

Here are Claire's Latest Adventures:

1. Trip to IKEA as a family. Claire did a lot of role playing with her babydoll!

Tucking her baby in

making the baby walk

2. The Dublin St. Patty's Day Parade:

obsessed with sitting on the side of the street. She really did not want to move!

Her new friend at the parade. They were comparing baby dolls.

Rocking out to the music!
 3. Bay Area Discovery Museum Free Day:

Silly Girl!

4. One of her Easter Dresses:

Poor Claire...

Our child has inherited her mom's clutziness!

In a matter of minutes, she managed to fall off the couch and bite her tongue hard enough to bleed, then proceeded to chase Dad in the hall, only to run into our threshhold and get THE BIGGEST bump on her forehead. And the darkening bump will only get worse, which is typical of Claire's bruising pattern. On the plus side, she sat still long enough for me to ice it and devour some yummy ice cream to numb up the tongue.

poor baby!

mmmm.... ice cream!

All Better!

Sweetheart,
I hope we can enroll you in soccer or ballet or something to improve your coordination or lack thereof!

Girls Weekend

All of the dental wives were able to get together one last weekend before the craziness of packing, graduating, and moving begins. It was a bittersweet weekend. I am very thankful I have been given such a wonderful group of friends in this city and it has made it easier to enjoy living here in the bay.

First stop: Pictures at the glorious bridge! It was freezing, but the pics came out great!
@Golden Gate Bridge before dinner
Gotta have that goofy shot somewhere.
I don't know what I was doing though!

Then we headed to dinner in North Beach at the Stinking Rose. If you are a garlic lover like me, you must check this place out! The food was delish!
@ the monumental Stinking Rose for Dinner
mmmm... GARLIC!
After dinner, we headed down the way for gelato and hot cocoa. We also got a suite at the Holiday Inn for the night and realxed and enjoyed our kid-less time together. It felt almost like summer camp again: 7 girls in one room, gossiping and giggling until early in the morning.
So. much. fun!

The next morning, we met up with Emily and Annie at Mama's Cafe. We waited 2 hours for the yummy Monte Cristo and it did not disappoint! Good food. Great company.
@ Mama's for breakfast

Last Stop: Coit Tower for a beautiful view of the bay and the city.

When Talia Comes to Play...

Our friends, the Halvorsons came out from Reno for a mini vacay this past weekend. We had so much fun and took advantage of the unusually beautiful weather in the area. I say unusually beautiful because the saying "April Showers brings May Flowers..." really does apply and we just expect tons of rain at this time of  year. Instead, it was mid-70s and sunny!

Claire's first carousel ride @ Pier 39

Fun in the sun at Crissy Field
(Notice the GG Bridge in the background? We will miss it!)

Little miss Talia.
(Those buckets were the best investment for the day! $4!)

Talia had so much fun in the water.
Claire stayed where the sand was dry most of the time

We took them to the infamous Mama's.
After and hour and a half wait in line, the food was worth it.
Thanks for coming to play Aubrey, Brandon, & Talia!
